Howto Setup Drupal Taxonomy

This Howto guide shows how to set up to Drupal Taxonomy Categories.

  1. Category - Page category, one per page

    Examples: Howto, Website Info, Specials

  2. Tags - Multiple per page, used to index page content

    Examples: Linux, Administration, Software, etc.

Enable Taxonomy module

admin/build/modules
Core Option - check Taxonomy
Save Configuration

Setup a Vocabulary for Wikis

-> admin/content/taxonomy/add/vocabulary
Identification
  Vocabulary Name = Category
  Description = blank:default
  Help Text = blank:default
Content Type
  Content Types = Wiki
Settings   Tags = Unchecked:default
  Multiple Select = = Unchecked:default
  Required = Checked Save # Add some terms -> admin/content/taxonomy/1/add/term   Name = Website Info   Description = blank:default
Save
  Name = Howto   Description = blank:default
Save
  Name = Specials   Description = blank:default

Setup a 'Tags' Taxonomy Vocabulary

-> admin/content/taxonomy/add/vocabulary
Identification

Settings   Tags = Checked   Multiple Select = Unchecked:default
